Highlighting Musicians of Lynchburg

Josh Barling is a Music Education Major at Lynchburg College. From San Antonio, he's played in a multitude of ensembles over the years. He's also the President of the local Mu Phi Epsilon Chapter! When he isn't in class, rehearsal, or with his kids, Josh is often putting in hours of practice. Nothing that's worth it comes easily, right? Josh letting out some long tones. Jacob Sharp has been at Lynchburg since 2015. He's a Computer Science Major with a minor in Music. He plays multiple instruments, his main one being the tuba. Jacob has an interest in composing/arranging music as well, rather than just playing it. Jacob will often arrange pieces for the Mu Phi Epsilon funk band, the Order of the Flying Purple Funk! Terence Gardner is a sophomore Music Education Major at Lynchburg! His primary instrument is the french horn. Like most of the musicians at Lynchburg College, Terence takes lessons every week to improve his skills. Terence is also currently in the process of becoming a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, an international co-ed music fraternity. Terence is the first to offer aid when someone is in need, and goes above and beyond to support those he loves.
Lynchburg College is always overflowing with talent. The students get up early and stay up late, working to pursue their education. The music department on campus is a perfect example of this work ethic. I wanted to put the spotlight on a few of these musicians- what they play, who they are, and that grin that gets captured at the perfect moment.
